AirPort Base Station (original)

Apple's first Wi-Fi base station shared one internet connection with up to ten Macs over 802.11b at 11 Mbit/s. It connected through its built-in dial-up modem or its single Ethernet port. Apple launched it with the iBook in July 1999 for about US$300. Its radio is a Lucent WaveLAN card, and it supports only 40-bit WEP encryption.
