iPod (Dock Connector)

Compared with the iPod (Touch Wheel), this model replaced the FireWire port on top with a dock connector on the bottom. The connector syncs over FireWire or USB, but the iPod charges over FireWire only. Its four buttons sit in a row above the wheel and are touch-sensitive. It is slimmer, came in sizes from 10 GB to 40 GB, and its battery life fell to about 8 hours.
