Macintosh 128K

Macintosh 128K

Apple's first Macintosh put a mouse-driven graphical interface into one compact case at a fraction of the Lisa's price. It has a 9-inch black-and-white screen at 512×342, an 8 MHz Motorola 68000, 128 KB of RAM and a 400 KB 3.5-inch floppy drive. It sold for US$2,495, while the Lisa, which had brought the same kind of interface a year earlier, cost US$9,995. Its memory could not be expanded without replacing chips on the logic board.
