Macintosh 512K

Compared with the Macintosh 128K, this model has four times the memory: 512 KB instead of 128 KB. The case, 9-inch screen, 8 MHz 68000 and 400 KB floppy drive did not change. The extra memory let it run larger programs and Apple's Hard Disk 20. Apple sold an upgrade that turned a 128K into a 512K, and a later kit with the Plus ROM and an 800 KB drive turned a 512K into a 512Ke.
