Macintosh Classic

Macintosh Classic

Compared with the Macintosh SE FDHD, this model cut the price to US$999, the first Macintosh below US$1,000. It kept the 8 MHz 68000, 9-inch screen and SuperDrive, but it dropped the expansion slot. Its logic board is a half-size version of the SE design. Holding Command-Option-X-O at startup boots a small version of System 6.0.3 from ROM.
