Network Server 500/132

Unlike the Workgroup Servers, which were desktop Macs with server software, Apple's Network Server was built as a server and ran IBM's AIX. Its ROM will not boot the classic Mac OS. It has a 132 MHz PowerPC 604, six PCI slots, two-channel Wide SCSI-2 and seven front bays for hot-swappable drives or tape. A small LCD panel shows diagnostics, and the lockable case weighs over 80 pounds.
