Apple's first battery-powered Macintosh put a complete 16 MHz 68000 Mac, with a floppy drive and full keyboard, into one case with a carrying handle. Its 9.8-inch black-and-white screen at 640×400 was one of the first active-matrix screens in a consumer laptop. The trackball could sit on either side of the keyboard. A lead-acid battery gave up to 10 hours of use, but the machine weighed almost 16 lb.
