PowerBook 100

PowerBook 100

The first PowerBooks moved the keyboard back and put the pointing device in a palm rest in front of it, the layout notebooks still use. Sony designed and built this entry model from the Macintosh Portable's 16 MHz 68000 design, at 5.1 lb against the Portable's 15.8 lb. It had a 9-inch backlit passive-matrix screen and no internal floppy drive. It was the first PowerBook that could act as an external SCSI disk for another Mac.
