This sensor cable measures the temperature of an OEM Seagate hard drive.
iMac computers of this era could have included drives made by Hitachi, Samsung, Seagate or Western Digital, but this cable is only for use with OEM Seagate drives.
A defective or missing temp sensor is most easily recognized by the fans spinning up to max RPM and staying there.
