Description

  • This sensor cable measures the temperature of an OEM Western Digital hard drive.
  • Each of Apple's original iMac hard drive manufacturers (Hitachi, Samsung, Seagate, Western Digital) use a unique cable, so the cable used must match the drive.
  • A defective or missing temp sensor is most easily recognized by the fans spinning up to max RPM and staying there.
  • Important: When installing, with the HDD circuit board facing up, connect this cable to the rightmost six pins, with the gray wire on the sensor cable in the "up" orientation (see last image).
