LCD Display eDP Cable, non-Retina (30/40-Pin)

  • The Embedded DisplayPort (eDP) cable transmits video data from the logic board to the LCD panel.
  • This cable is only compatible with iMac computers having non-Retina displays (sometimes referred to as "2K" displays) and more specifically, only if the iMac has the 2.8GHz Core i5 processor option.
  • This non-Retina eDP cable can be identified by the pin-count on either end: a 40-pin connection on the logic board and a 30-pin connection on the LCD panel.
  • The eDP cable for use with 4K Retina screens uses a cable with a 40-pin connection on the logic board and a 60-pin connection on the LCD panel.
